Games at Work

I can't seem to get past my work's games filter.

I try and try - StumbleUpon has been the best thing so far. I can push a button in Firefox and then StumbleUpon takes me to a random games site that is listed in their database under Online Games. If my work blocks it, I hit the button again. I get about 1 out of every 10 sites that isn't blocked (although, some have been blocked within hours of me accessing them).

There's something about gaming at work that I just love. I can barely log on at home to play games - if I'm going to play a game, I'll get on the Wii or Xbox 360 or PS2 or WhateverOtherSystemsIHave258. It's much more thrilling at work to play.

I don't think it's because of the risk of getting caught. I've never been intrigued by that. I like doing risky things, but I would love those risky things so much more if they weren't risky. If they were just things, I would do them all the time.

It's probably because, for some reason, I get inspired to do everything - write comedy, write music, play games, solve math theorems - while I'm at work. When I'm at home, I also get inspired to do things - sleep, lay down, sit, etc. I can get a lot done at work, just not my actual work.

-------------------------

I don't like a lot of flash games, namely the ones that are quick 1 minute games. I'm looking for complicated ones, but not so complicated that I can't just use the mouse. So far, my favorite have been the Element TD series of games. I can't get enough of them.

My favorite one has been the hand drawn Desktop TD version. Brilliant. It's got a lot of weapons and upgrades and I love the maze aspect of it. I just found a circle version of the TD games as well but I have to play that at home.

So, basically, I'm looking for RTS style games. Not that anyone actually reads these blog entries but if you accidentally stumbled on to this, leave me a comment for some good games to play at work that aren't blocked.
