Rockstar Announces Virtual Sandbox For PS3, Exclusively
Rockstar Games is bringing its new sandbox simulator, Virtual Sandbox, exclusively to the PS3.
The new game, developed by Take2 Interactive, puts you in the role of a child playing in a sandbox. The game continues the Take2 tradition of sandbox world gaming but takes a more literal approach says Ben Feder, CEO and President of Take2.
"There are absolutely no limitations on what you can do in Virtual Sandbox. We've even taken out the goals and missions that can restrict you from doing exactly what you want."
In addition to the normal sand castle building that you would experience in a real sandbox, you can have sand fights with friends, build rivers that you can pour water into with a virtual waterhose and make sand angels. Take2 has taken a lot of steps to make the game as realistic as possible, even going so far as implementing a weather and pet feces system that will change how the sand is worked with.
"This game will take sandbox play to new heights," said Feder. "Remembering where you came from is an important part of experiencing life and what person hasn't played in a sandbox when they were a child?"
Feder continued.
"Except for me - my mom said I would get too dirty. I always resented her for that."
