GameStop Now Accepting Soul Trade-Ins
Popular video game store GameStop is now accepting souls in exchange for store credit.
"Our customers love to trade in their videogames and DVDs for cash towards pre-orders and other product," said Miles Taco, a spokesperson for GameStop. "But what do they do when they run out of games?"
In exchange for the possession of their soul, a customer can get store credit for anything in the store. According to Taco, the amount of credit varies based on age. If you are between the ages of 12 and 20 you'll get more because your soul hasn't had as much time to make any decisions.
"We're looking for souls that haven't been swayed in any direction. The more 'used' a soul is, the less likely we'll be able to control it."
Social standing is also a way of determining how much store credit a customer will receive.
"If you're in public office, for example, your soul will probably net you a new video game console. If you're a janitor, you can get a subscription to Game Informer," said Taco.
GameStop doesn't have plans to offer cash instead of store credit with this exchange said Taco.
"If you don't have a soul then what do you need cash for? It's not like you've got any bargaining power now."
