StarCraft 2 Revealed As StarCraft Expansion Pack

South Korean gamers were treated to a special preview of Blizzard’s new offering on Saturday when the company announced the latest expansion pack to StarCraft, StarCraft 2.

The incremental upgrade to StarCraft will feature no new playable races and only minor tweaks to current units. Blizzard is presumably reticent to change the formula that made the original StarCraft such a phenomenon in competitive gaming.

“We were a little weary of bringing out a derivative expansion to our most successful game. But, when Bungie released the Halo 3 Beta to a massive reception, we knew the public would be willing to pay for even the slightest improvements,” said Blizzard President Michael Morhaime.

“That World of WarCraft money isn’t going to last forever. We need a new cash printer,” said Dustin Browder, lead designer for StarCraft 2. “All we need is to touch up the graphics a bit and have Jim Raynor say a few lines and we’ve sold the pack to 50 million Koreans!”

In the wake of the news, Blizzard has also announced plans to purchase Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class sedans for all 1600 of its employees, as analysts have now rated Blizzard as “richer than God.”
