Sony Promising PS3 Shortages By June

Sony is promising that it will be hard to buy a PS3 by June of this year.

"We have have taken all of the steps to ensure that you will not be able to find a PS3 by this summer," said Ken Kutaragi, the Chairman and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment. "With the shortage in effect, people will finally see the importance of the PS3 to the video game industry."

The PS3 has been readily available in most stores and most analysts attribute the stock overage to the high price of the console, including Jot Youngen, video game and fast food restaurant analyst.

"People can't afford the expensive price tag of the PS3. It's just too much. On the other hand, a McDonald's supersize fry? Now that's something the consumer can get behind."

Kutaragi doesn't see things the same way.

"The PS3? Too much money? Ha! That's like saying air is too important for your lungs. The supersize fry theory I get, but..."

Sony has been trying to sell out their console for months now. They've been buying up consoles themselves and they stopped production a few weeks ago. According to Kutaragi, they should have the stock down by the beginning of June.

"I've bought about 50 PS3s myself and every one of our employees is required to buy at least 2 of them. I've increased their Christmas bonus by $198 each. They should work overtime for the other $1200."
