Video Game Magazine Can't Find Place On Cover For DS News

Gaming Nerd, a magazine for video gamers, can't find a place on its cover to put any DS headlines.

"We've got Crackdown, Lair, Oblivion for the PSP and Wii Play too," said Mart Lorgan, graphics designer for Gaming Nerd. "I just don't know how I'm going to fit that Diddy Kong Racing headline on the cover."

"I told Mart that I wanted every story in the magazine to have a headline on the front," said Sean Triul, senior editor. "If people can't figure out what's in the mag by reading the cover, how will they believe that there's any content inside?"

Lorgan agrees.

"If I see a magazine and it only has the title of the magazine on the front, I don't even pay attention to it. Why would I buy a magazine that is only a cover? How do I know that there are any articles in a magazine if it doesn't show me on the cover? In fact, I've been working on a design that will incorporate full articles on the cover."

Gaming Nerd has been around for about a year and has quickly snatched up the Gamestop and EB Games customer demographic. They are working to get a wider circulation but grocery stores won't sell anything that says "nerd" on the packaging. Except for Nerds.
