EVE Online Devs Develop Reality
The EVE Online developers have developed a new technology for their game called "reality."
"It turns out that people actually thought they were in the game," said Mar Mromovych, Lead Developer. "They didn't realize they were in playing a game."
This new technology will bring a new light to the game and will allow players to step away from their computers and experience real life drama and suspense.
"This is a whole new world," said Tal345, an EVE Online player. "This new... 'reality' is an amazing technology. I've never experienced such... realness before."
A recent scandal in which a certain developer was cheating in his own game brought about the creation of reality.
"I was writing out my confession using the terms from the game and I said to myself, 'What the hell am I doing,'" said the anonymous developer. "This is real life here. I screwed real people over. Why am I writing in game speech? This led me to develop this reality."
EVE Online has been online since 2003 and has been growing in numbers every year. Reality stands to change this and the developers hope to lose all of their players by 2009.
