[ANOTHER NEWS] Treasure Wins Corporate Softball Championship 2,346,789-11
In a devastating upset, Treasure Co. Ltd defeated Namco Ltd. by 2,346,778 runs to win the Corporate Softball League Championship (CSL) of Japan.
"It was a tough win," said Masato Maegawa, CEO of Treasure Co. Ltd. "They threw A LOT of fast balls but we got in there and managed to squeeze out a win."
The CSL was started in 1994 to promote unity between CEOs and to promote Japanese company relations. Every year since, Namco has won the championship and this defeat was very upsetting to their current CEO, Kyushiro Takagi.
"We really thought we would win again but Treasure memorized our basemen's patterns and was able to dodge every attempt at outting their players," said Takagi.
This is Treasure's first year in the tournament and they are very proud of their success. Maegawa said that he looks forward to next year for a repeat victory.
"I think we can do it again. We've been working on some ways to maximize our scores but basically we are just practicing the same things over and over again. That's the only way you can beat these bosses."
