Xbox 360 Is A Major Success In 2006

The Xbox 360 division of Microsoft is a major success for the company with only a $1.26 billion loss in 2006.

"We've lost less money this year than any other year we've had a video game system," said Peter Moore, Corporate Vice President, Interactive Entertainment Business, Entertainment and Devices Division. "Next year we hope to lose even less."

According to Moore, the Xbox 360 is on course to beat 2005's loss of $4 trillion.

"We've seen the research. We've seen the pie charts. We've even seen the 3-D graphs. We're looking pretty good this year."

Moore hopes that by the end of next year, they'll see a drop in losses and a rise in profits, due to expanded coverage of Japan.

"We're still working hard on Japan. We've hit the major cities and next year we're going to hit some of the offshore towns. We think we can really have a major impact on Japan by the end of 2007."
