Peoria High School Student Soundly Beaten By Girlfriend In Soul Calibur 3
Jacob Wiley, 16, was completely and utterly beaten by his non-gamer girlfriend, Laura Sundry, in Soul Calibur 3 on Wednesday afternoon.
The event took place when the Peoria High School sophomore invited friends over to play the popular fighting game.
“Jake called a bunch of the guys over to play Soul Calibur, like he usually does. Normally he kicks our asses and starts talking trash,” said Ken Ferguson, friend of Wiley’s. “So then Laura comes over and decides that she wants to play. We explain the buttons to her and she fiddles around with it. But then she just goes nuts. I don’t think Jake hit her once the whole round.”
According to friends and family members, Sundry has had extremely limited gaming experience, seen only occasionally playing Parachute on her iPod. "She loves that frickin' game," said Ferguson. "I can't even be bothered with it."
The event has made a laughingstock of Wiley, who previously held a reputation as a fighting game savant. “The worst part was when Jake demanded another game, just to prove that it was beginner’s luck. Problem was, it wasn’t luck and Jake got pummeled again,” said Ferguson.
Eyewitness accounts indicate it was at that point the normally reserved Sundry began to verbally berate Wiley on his apparent lack of gaming skills, calling him a ‘punk bitch’ and stating that he wasn’t man enough to game with her. She then won 5 more matches against her boyfriend. Wiley, in a fit of rage, declared their 6-month, 7-day relationship over and ran up to his room, presumably to cry.
