Prosecutor Sues Capcom Over Lawyer Adventure Series

"OBJECTION!!!" said Von Karma, upon learning a character was designed using unsound tactics and even his name in the video game Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

"I do not, nor have I ever, falsified evidence for use in the courtroom. This is clearly a defamation of my name."

Von Karma, in the video game, is a villianous prosecutor who forges evidence, preps witnesses, and generally does anything frowned upon to get a guilty verdict. Von Karma, the real life prosecutor, graduated in Florida and practices law in medical malpractice trials.

His first encounter with the game happened when he was searching for clients at the local hospital where he frequents. One potential client was playing the game at the time.

"I saw him just fixated on that thing while I kept telling him to practice not moving his head. I needed his full cooperation because our case was built on him having a broken neck and he kept disobeying me!"

Matt Atwood, Capcom's PR, responded "We've seen this kind of frivolous lawsuit before, such as in the case of the famed wrestler Maxx Payne vs. Rockstar Games, 3D Realms and Remedy Entertainment. We believe that we shall pull through and settle this case appropriately."

Von Karma thinks otherwise.

"Objection! Cases such as the Max Payne Vs. Rockstar Games, 3D Realms and Remedy Entertainment case have no bearing at all here and if a judge even so much as considers it I would object. That same judge would then agree with the statement: Objection sustained! I can not have any guillible judges believing in that nonsense and I must protect my name!".

Currently both parties are negotiating for a possible settlement.
