Man, 35, Angry That Game Addiction Not Covered By Health Insurance
Joshua Salter, a 35 year old man, is angry that his addiction to playing video games is not covered by his health insurance provider.
"One day you're just trying to level up, the next thing you know... Bam! You're Googling for plumbers and asking for quotes on moving your toilet to underneath your desk. It's just that subtle," said Salter.
Last month, Salter read an article about The Smith and Jones Clinic of Amsterdam that specializes in treating extreme cases of video game addiction, or V.A, as some uninventive people have come to term the condition. Realizing that the cure was just a short 16 hour flight away, Joshua eagerly contacted his health insurance provider to inquire when and where he should file his receipts, only to receive shocking news: They didn't know what he was talking about.
"It was like they didn't care or even understand what I was talking about. I was near to tears and out of my mind- I even resorted to leet speak," said Salter.
Despite the setback, Joshua intends to fight the decision.
"If they want me to bring my mom into this, then so be it. I will make a stand for all who suffer from this terrible, yet, treatable disease."
Salter's health insurance provider refused an interview with us.
