DS Opera Browser Lacks Browsing

According to the Q&A section of the Japanese Nintendo site, the new Opera browser for the Nintendo DS will lack Flash, video, sound, PDF and browsing support.

Users will be able to surf the internet but will not be able see any of the pages loading and, after the pages are loaded, will not be able to see the finished product either. You will, however, be able to use the stylus to navigate although you won't be able to tell if you're going anywhere or not.

The top screen will show a zoomed image of a user selected area of the bottom screen. This allows for a better view of the information on any particular website. However, since you can't see the bottom screen, you will get a zoomed image of nothing.

In addition, the browser will not be officially available through retail sites or Nintendo's online store. You will not be able to buy this add-on anywhere. There will be limited quantities produced as well.

The Nintendo DS Browser will not be available on July 24, 2006.
