Legendary A-Hole Boss Alan Kotok Has Died
Alan Kotok, the jerk that was the boss of Steve Russel, the main author of Spacewar!, died over the Memorial Day weekend.
"The guy was a real dick. He was always coming down on me - real stict," said Russel. "It's like, 'Dude! I'm sitting here doing important work, and you want me make a video game?'"
According Russel, he was working on a way to make time travel possible and was right on the cusp of doing so.
"I'm like, so close to coming up with the formula for time travel and here comes this guy - on a power trip - slamming his agenda on to my desk saying, 'What's your excuse now? Blah blah blah.' Now, I don't even remember the formula!"
Russel also does a good impression of Kotok.
"I'm Alan 'Jerkface' Kotok. I'm an idiot. I like to eat worms."
Alan is survived by his three children and one grandchild. His wife, Judie, passed away last year. His worm-as-delicacy research is continued by son, Mark.
