Guitar Hero 2 To Be Endorsed By Elvis

After recently acquiring Red Octane, the publishers of the first Guitar Hero, Activision announced that much like Tony Hawk represents their Pro Skater series, Elvis Presley would be the face of Guitar Hero 2.

“Our PR division decided to skip the middleman [Elvis Presley Enterprises] and go straight to the source,” said Ron Hutchins, head of PR at Activision. “We consulted famous TV infomercial psychic Miss Cleo, who contacted Elvis through the sheer power of brainwaves. After a live demo of the game, Elvis only regretted not being able to shred guitar himself in spirit form. He agreed to give it a ‘3 and a half thumbs up, thank-you-very-much,’ and needless to say, we were ecstatic! His endorsement will appear on all cover art, and also on every loading screen to remind the player of how awesome this new game is.”

“The cards never lie,” added Miss Cleo. When asked about the fact that no cards were used to contact Elvis, she said, “Call me now, babies,” and shuffled back to the year 2001.

Hutchins insisted on ending the interview with a bold message to the entire industry.

“The first Guitar Hero game enjoyed incredible sales without any endorsements. Now that we have the King of Rock ‘n Roll himself on our side, we predict that Guitar Hero 2 will have super awesome incredible sales! Watch out!”
