GameSpot Senior Editor Allegedly Fired For Playing PSP While At Work

GameSpot Senior Editor Jeff Gerstmann was allegedly fired today for playing his PSP while at his desk and during work hours.

CNET is being very tight-lipped about the whole ordeal but according to rumors on the GameSpot message board Gerstmann was reviewing a game and had to play the PSP in order to do that. Gerstmann hasn't been reached for comment but GerstmannFan21 from the message board did manage to make up a quote: "This is ridiculous - I'm supposed to play at my desk! It's my freakin' job!"

CNETFan44 - also from the GameSpot message board - also made up a quote from CNET on the alleged firing: "It's not the fact that he was playing on the job - it's that everytime we would walk by, he wouldn't even say hello, or even give us a nod. Being the boss over a bunch of websites does not garner you a lot of friendship - I'm willing to accept that - but at least, some acknowledgement is in order."

GameSpot is one of the leaders in the online video game journalism community and is known for their attention to detail and great mustaches.

Perhaps if I had followed through and grown a great mustache of my own, none of this would have ever happened!
