[E3 2006] New Metal Gear Solid: Unseeable Ops Announced For PSP
5.10.06 - Konami has just unveiled it's latest in the Metal Gear Solid series titled Metal Gear Solid: Unseeable Ops for the Sony PSP.
"The Metal Gear Solid series is one of our most popular franchises and we feel the Sony PSP is the perfect platform for the game's complicated, detailed, full gaming experience," said Michihiro Ishizuka, President of Konami.
In Metal Gear Solid: Unseeable ops, players will once again be able to take the role of Snake and use his stealth to complete his mission. By using the small PSP screen, players will hardly be able to make out the action and with this new feature comes a whole new challenge says Hideo Kojima, creator of the series.
"We wanted to make the newest installment of the series as challenging as possible and with the PS3 we were able to do that with Metal Gear Solid 4 because of the raw power of the system that allowed us to fine tune the AI of the enemy. The PSP didn't allow us the same power so we just scrunched it all down into a tiny screen - that definitely makes the game harder."
In addition to the challenge of being able to follow the action on screen, there is also a new feature that only allows players to save the game every 5 hours. Players will have to get to each 5 hour milestone in order to keep their progress and continue their games. According to Kojima, this keeps players' eyes blurred and ups the challenge just a bit more.
The Metal Gear Solid series has been going strong ever since the PSone and has kept gamers enthralled with it's intense storylines, powerful characters and a couple of underwear shots.
