Nintendo Employee Paychecks Delayed

04.05.06 - Nintendo announced this week that its employees will have to wait to get paid this month as their paychecks have been delayed.

"We've got a lot of tweaking we want to get done before we release the paychecks," said Reggie Fils-Aime, chief marketing officer of Nintendo. "We've been working really hard on them and we think our employees will be pleasantly surprised."

Rumors are flying as to what those exact tweaks are as Nintendo hasn't released any specific details on the delay. Matt Cassamassina of IGN thinks that Nintendo is retooling the design a bit and wants to add "a couple of fine touches here and there."

"I think they wanted to make the paychecks look as sharp as possible and so they went back to the design and added a couple of borders, better looking fonts... just to make the design more pleasing to the eye."

The other popular rumor being talked about on the internet is that Nintendo wanted their paychecks to work with their new accounting system being installed later this year.

"I heard that they are getting a new accounting system and that Ninendo wanted to use the current checks with the new scanning system," said ChibiBOBO, a frequenter of the Living With Style message boards.

Nintendo insists that the delayed paychecks will be issued using the current system and that there are no plans to release them with the new accounting system.

I don't think they should be paid at all...The employees should be paying NINTENDO! Not the other way around!
