Prince Of Persia Series Labeled Terroristic Threat

03.14.06 - The Conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation has condemned Ubisoft's popular line of Prince of Persia video games as "promoting terrorism."

Dr. Samuel Flaggenstaff, Ph.D., released a report on Monday noting that Persia is just "a historical name for the country now referred to as Iran," and that "Iran is a hotbed for terroristic growth and nucleo-thematic anti-American development." Dr. Flaggenstaff hypothesizes that "Ubisoft's glorification of Persia helps foster the growth of terrorism across the globe."

Adrien Bagnolet, Ubisoft's Vice President of Foreign Public Relations, called the report preposterous. "It is such a silly thing to be making such ridiculous allegations," he said in a statement. "It is absolutely preposterous, in that it is so silly. We have nothing else to say about such ridiculous things."
