NBC To Air "Tetris" TV Series
03.14.06 - NBC today announced that it was ordering 13 episodes of "The Secret Lives of Tetris Blocks" for its Fall 2006 lineup.
Flustered by mediocre ratings that have put the once-proud American network in 4th place overall, NBC surprised many today by announcing that a new sitcom based on the popular videogame "Tetris", would be part of the network's lineup for the next season.
"We expect this new show to continue the long-standing tradition of quality comedy and 'Must See TV' on NBC" said Bob Ferguson, Director of Programming at NBC. "It's incredibly promising. The writing staff have worked on such prestigious shows such as 'Dharma & Greg', the American version of 'Coupling', and 'Suddenly Susan'" added Ferguson.
The plot of the show centers on Vladimir, a square block looking to write the great American novel and battle an addiction to paint thinner. His oddball friend, L-shaped Antonio, is a gay photographer in his mid-30's looking to settle down and become a single parent via adoption.
The series is set to debut on Mondays at 9:00 PM, after "Law and Order: Parking Violation Unit" and before "The Apprentice: Gas Station Attendant".
