Nintendo Pinky Swears Zelda Still Being Released On Gamecube

02.21.06 - Fighting off a barrage of questions from skeptical reporters today, Nintendo executives vehemently insisted that their new Zelda title would be released for the Gamecube, and not their new console, codenamed “Revolution” and previously codenamed “SuperCoolFunHappySmile256”.

“Listen, we all know what happened with Eternal Darkness, Dinosaur Planet, Sin and Punishment, Starfox 2, the DD64, Earthbound Zero and Metroid 64, okay? There’s no use in reminding us about the blatant lies we’ve told you in the past,” said Nintendo’s spokesman and pitching coach for the Seattle Mariners, Tom Costello.

However, Costello stressed that potential Revolution purchasers would be able to enjoy the game too. “Yeah, potential Revolution purchasers will be able to enjoy the game too… if they happen to own a Gamecube too. Haha, just kidding.”

When pressed about the status of the new Mario DS game, Costello was equally misleading and somewhat confusing: “Well, we’re thinking of adding a new version of Duck Hunt to the game. Yeah, the stylus will be orange though – just in case the Vice President intends to play. In which case the game would be renamed Quail Hunt. Am I right?”
