DS Redesign Announced, Sony To Counter With "PSPwn"

2.07.06 - Following the recent announcement concerning the redesign of Nintendo's portable machine – the DS, console rivals Sony unveiled their newest attempt at taking away some of Nintendo's market share with their own redesign, titled "PSPwn".

"The PSPwn is like a PSP – but better. There's just no better way to describe it" stated Brian Morris, Sony's PR director in North America. The new console, Sony proclaimed, will come in 12 new shades of grey - most of them chromed – and with names such as "Slammin' Silver" and "Pimpin' Platinum".

Even though company executives said they were "stunned" by the overall lack of success of the UMD format, Sony has decided to press on with their plans to merge every single existing piece of media into their portable machine. The UMD book, UMD magazine and UMD UMD holder are among the new devices that will only be compatible with the PSPwn.

The PSPwn will retail at an MSRP of $350. When questioned about the steep price tag, Sony VP Morris replied "We can totally justify that. It's like a PSP, only better."
