"The Sims 2: NBC Late Night" Announced For PC And Next-Gen Consoles

01.16.06 - Following the positive feedback stemming from the announcement of "The Apprentice" – a game based on the popular TV show starring Donald Trump - NBC has partnered with EA to create a new expansion pack for The Sims 2.

Todd Bryant, senior vice president of EA, commented about the game at a press conference in company headquarters near Redwood Hills. "We're very proud to announce that the nation's 4th-leading television network has decided to collaborate with us, here at EA".

Bryant commented that the game would put players in a comparable environment than that of real late-night talk show hosts, and that in-game choices would dictate their success with the audience. Depending on how well the host does, the game awards the player with a certain ranking.

For example, a quick cancellation will most likely earn the player a "Chevy Chase" rating, while being incredibly stale, telling too few jokes and managing to make the audience wonder what got you this show anyway will give the host a "Carson Daly" rating. To get the "Jay Leno" rating you have to f*cking suck.

An April 2006 release – just in time for sweeps – is planned.
