Jack Thompson Jokes Up 54% On G4, NPD Reports
1.24.06 - Following an investigation that spanned four months and countless reruns of Attack of the Show!, the NPD today posted their results of their media study pertaining to G4, the cable channel devoted to covering video games and technology exclusively, much like MTV is devoted to covering the world of music exclusively.
A rising trend noted in the NPD logs is that the channel is taking almost exclusive aim at lawyer turned anti-game activist Jack Thompson, whose name has been mentioned on average 33 times per half-hour of programming.
The main source of fodder involved plays on the infamous lawyer's name, with parodies like "Crack Thompson", "Whack Thompson" and "Jack Thompsdumb" being the ones most often employed.
"Well, the last thing we want to do is to give him free publicity, so we're instructing all of our hosts to really go out there and try and tarnish his reputation" explained Chad Ferdinand, director of programming at G4.
In contrast, the NPD reported that Joe Lieberman and Hilary Clinton jokes are down 28%, and that X-Play co-host Adam Sessler's hairline – is down 39%.

In France, MTV bought to Atari Game One. It's a TV Game channel making the same coverage than G4. Maybe, MTV will do the same in your country ? (sorry for my english, i don't write correctly)^^
