Third Xbox 360 Package Announced, Halo 3 Not Playable

12.02.05 - Microsoft, today, announced the sale of a third Xbox 360 package called the Red Ribbon Pack, which will retail for $200 and will include everything the Core system has, except for compatibility with Halo 3.

"We wanted to provde a system for the casual, casual player," says Peter Moore, corporate vice president of worldwide marketing and publishing for Xbox. "You know, the kid who can't afford to get new stuff."

Microsoft already takes a loss on every system sold but with this new package they stand to lose $5,000 per system.

"We figure we'll make it back with our Xbox Live Marketplace," said Moore. "We estimate that for every Red Ribbon Pack sold, a consumer will also buy $5,000 in Pac-Man clones."
