Ang Lee Agrees To Direct Pong Film
12.17.05 - Ang Lee has signed on to direct Pong: The Movie, which should begin filming next year.
The film has already attracted considerable talent, including Jude Law as the left paddle, The Rock as Seargent Maelstrom III, and Chevy Chase as the voice of Skippy the Space Bat.
The film has been on and off since 1999, mostly due to the fact that the Pong video game has no plot. However, different screen writers have lent their hand to the movie, and a workable script was ready by 2004.
Jerry Bruckheimer was attached as producer and the film took off from there. With a director finally on board, filming can begin as early as Spring 2006.

I hope they show some scenes from the paddle's perspective.
That way it would feel more like the game even though it's really just a movie.

Holy anarchy on a crooked crutch, your're right!
Come to think of it, that ball actually appears to be ablating and leaving a trail behind it as it moves across the screen!
That can't be good for the environment.
What to do?

I just hope they go into all the religious obstacles the left paddle has to surpass to beat his nemesis. If Ang Lee knows what he's doing he'll definitely fixate strongly on the characterization on Mohammed, the christian monk, and his evil schemes to destroy the wonders of 2-dimensional Atari creations. Definitely looking forward to this masterpiece.
